Floyd has had a lucky coin for years, keeping him safe at the sea, but one day it was stolen for certain human-fish kind of creature. Then is when you come in to the story, helping Floyd and Goldie to find the lucky coin and get it back.
The object of the game is to catch items with your trap line and pull them up to earn money. You must beat the level goal before time runs out. Any extra cash you earn above the level goal helps you reach the next level’s goal. Objects range widely in value and weight, so choose wisely what items you will try to catch.
Your line will swing back and forth on its own. Drop the trap line when it is lined up with an object by clicking the mouse below the water’s surface. You can also use the down arrow key to drop the line. Placement of the mouse does not control the direction of the trap line. Wait until the trap swings to the angle you want, then click to drop it.
To move the boat back and forth, click to the left or right of the boat above the water line or use the left and right arrow keys. Moving the boat may make it easier to gram some hard to reach items. After you have grabbed something, you can blow it up by clicking on the bomb barrel on the side of the boat. You can also use the up arrow key to activate the bomb. You may want to blow up an object if it is not worth a lot of money and you do not want to waste time pulling it up. You can also clear obstacles out of the way or attack enemies that you grab.
When you first enter the game, you’ll see the welcome screen with the following options:
- Play: it leads you to a game mode selection screen. You can choose between three modes: Finders (Floyd’s Story); Keepers (Score attack) which is locked at the beginning; and 2 Players (to challenge friends).
- Options: Shows the options menu
- Help: Launches the help pages
- Extras: Shows you the Credits, behind the scenes material and high scores.
- Exit: Closes the Game
